What to look for when buying a first gen

Title kinda says it all, I joined the forum to start looking at first gen vipers. I've loved them since childhood and prefer gen 1 over the others.
What specifically should I be looking for in a first gen, assuming I find ones with excellent maintenance history and the general up keeping has been done to the car. Was the first gen prone to anything specific like failing wheel bearings, engine or cooling failures, etc.
I've read good things on the 6 speed manual and also that the engine is large enough to take a bit of punishment and power.
Thanks for the help

Thorn7, While I cannot address the Gen 1's in particular, I would suggest you look through the Gen 1 / Gen 2 forum on the National site. I would think there are many posts surrounding the purchase of a Gen 1. https://driveviper.com/f...ms/forums/5-Gen-I-Gen-IIGood luck with your search. |

The only common issue with gen 1 is head gaskets. The old paper ones are prone to weeping. Now they make a MLS gasket to replace them with.
I do have a yellow Gen 1 I might sell ;)
